How we Assign Referees to Games

Procedures for Assigning

1. We are scheduling at least one week in advance this season.  Please send the Assignor your availability for two weeks at a time.  You will receive your schedule no later than Tuesday before that weekend.
2. The RSC Assignor schedules games on Tuesdays with notification going out as soon as practical thereafter, generally late Tuesday or Wednesday.  RSC Assignor will e-mail your assignments if you have e-mail or call if you do not have e-mail. 
3. You must confirm games scheduled within 48 hours (Thursday) or else your games will be reassigned. 

 Referees can state their availability for the entire season and will be provided advanced schedules.  Schedules are subject to change as games may change. 

Uniforms

RSC has the new gold uniform for $10 while supplies last. Adult sizes: XL only. You will be required to have the proper uniform in order to referee. 

This includes the USSF Gold Jersey; in case of color conflicts you may want to wear the alternate USSF red, black, or blue jersey. You may purchase the additional colored (black, red, blue) jerseys if you want to avoid color conflicts with the teams you are refereeing. But this will not be mandatory, due to financial concerns.

 NOTE TO NEW REFEREES

Congratulations to each of you who were recently certified to referee games. 

 As a new and generally younger referee, please understand that there are a limited number of games each weekend that you can be assigned to.  We do not allow referees to work games unless they are at least 2 years older than the age of the players.  Exceptions are occasionally made if the referee has demonstrated an ability to handle such an assignment or availability requires us to forego this rule.  We also like to have a senior level referee for your first few games to help you get acclimated to the position as a referee.  The majority of the newly licensed referees are only able to work U12 and below games. 

 Please be patient.  Each week we are trying to work the new referees into our schedule.  As the season progresses, we hope to get everyone games.  However, the limited number of games that we can schedule you for may not allow us to work each of you into the process.  Keep notifying us of your availability and we will do what we can.
